Joints In Motion

Destination: 2011 – Machu Picchu Inca Trail Trek

Please support my journey!

I am participating in the Joints In Motion program to raise money for a great cause.

There are over 100 different forms of arthritis. One type, rheumatoid arthritis, affects about 1% of the world’s population. I’ll save you from doing the math – that’s 69 million people.

And that’s just rheumatoid arthritis.

Arthritis can be a disabling and painful condition, which can lead to substantial loss of functioning and mobility if not adequately treated. This isn’t just a fact that I dug out of a book or web site. I myself have rheumatoid arthritis; I was originally diagnosed with it at age 17. When the symptoms are at their worst I can barely walk or dress myself.

Our present medical knowledge does not know what causes it and has no cure.

In this day and age I think that is unacceptable, and that is why I have stepped up to be part of this fund raiser.

As part of this program I’ll be trekking to Machu Picchu, Peru, in August 2011 to promote awareness for arthritis and to raise funds.

Your donations will contribute to my travel cost and support research to find a cure.

Please sponsor me and help make a difference. Together, with your support, we can reach our fundraising goal and help reduce the amount of suffering in the world.
