In January I wrote a post about Andrew Rader’s quest to win a trip to space through the AXE Apollo Space Academy.
That’s AXE as in the brand of male grooming products. Working with one of the first men to walk on the moon, Buzz Aldrin, they have created the AXE Apollo Space Academy (A.A.S.A.), a program which is giving fans a chance to experience an adventure unlike any other. AXE is asking applicants from around the globe to sign up for the A.A.S.A. and tell the world why they deserve to go to space. Two Canadians, with the most votes, will win a place at the final stage at the AXE Global Space Camp in Orlando, Florida where the final 22 space travelers will be selected based on competitive space-simulation challenges.
“Space travel for everyone is the next frontier in the human experience,” said Buzz Aldrin, pilot of the historic Apollo 11 spacecraft that landed on the moon in 1969.
For Toastmaster Andrew Rader this competition is a ticket to get one step closer to his dream of going to Mars. Rader says, “I want to go to space because… you have to go through space to get to Mars – the next destination“.
Since January Rader has moved from 16th position to 11th, and estimates he has about 3,000 votes. He has a very active YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/AndrewRader.
